Attack on Adas Torah: Cameron Higby and Judit Maull bear sprayed by Hamas Supporters

The case of Ronen Helmann, Cameron Higby, and Judit Maull v. CodePink Women for Peace, CodePink Action Fund, Honor the Earth, Courtney Lenna Schirf, Remo Ibrahim, and John and Jane Does 1-20 involves serious allegations of targeted antisemitic actions in Los Angeles. On June 23, 2024, the plaintiffs were directly impacted by a violent protest organized by the defendants outside the Adas Torah Synagogue in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood. The plaintiffs allege that the protest was deliberately orchestrated to prevent Jewish people from exercising their religious rights, resulting in physical and emotional harm.

The First Amended Complaint expands on the original allegations, adding two more plaintiffs and implicating additional defendants, including specific individuals who played key roles in organizing the attack. The amended complaint details how the plaintiffs were subjected to violence, intimidation, and threats, with some being physically assaulted and bear-sprayed by the protestors. The lawsuit seeks damages under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, the Ku Klux Klan Act, and the California FACE Act, aiming to hold the defendants accountable for their actions and to prevent future occurrences of such targeted hate crimes.
